BOUCHERVILLE, Que. (CP) - Baie-Comeau Drakkar forward Francois Bouchard and Victoriaville Tigres goaltender Jean-Christophe Blanchard were named the offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively, in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on Tuesday.
Bouchard scored two goals and added seven assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-2 in three games with the Drakkar last week. Despite the performance, Baie-Comeau managed just one victory in three games.
Bouchard's scoring surge propelled him into second place in the QMJHL scoring race, three points behind league-leader Thomas Beauregard of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
