For the third consecutive week, the Owen Sound Attack has named Anaheim Ducks draft pick Bobby Ryan the Becker Shoes Attacker of the Week. (December 25 - 31, 2006)
The first game of the week was in Sudbury on Friday, December 29, 2006. Bobby Ryan started the scoring for the Owen Sound Attack at 7:31 of the first frame. He then proceeded to assist on three other Attack goals as Owen Sound breezed to a 6-2 road victory. Bobby Ryan was named First Star of the Game.
The second game of the week was in Owen Sound on Saturday, December 30, 2006 against the visiting Brampton Battalion. Not wanting to disappoint the home crowd, Bobby Ryan scored Owen Sound's third and fourth goals of the game and then assisted on the game winner and the seventh goal as the Attack picked up a 7-4 win. Once again Bobby Ryan earned the First Star of the Game honors.
In two games Bobby Ryan had three goals and five assists for eight points with a rating of Plus four to lead the Owen Sound Attack in all categories for the week. This also extended his point streak to eight games. He has moved into sole possession of sixth in the OHL Scoring race and is just seven points from the lead. He is tied for twelfth in OHL Goals with twenty three. He is tied for fifth in OHL Assists with thirty eight. He is tied for third in OHL Power Play Goals with thirteen. He is tied for fifth in OHL Power Play Assists with twenty four. Plus he is just 12 points from surpassing Andrew Brunette (now with the Colorado Avalanched) to become the top scorer in franchise history for the Guelph Plater - Owen Sound Plater - Owen Sound Attack franchise.
