Joe Thornton scored the other goal for the Sharks, while Vesa Toskala stopped 24 shots. San Jose finished 3-2 on its five-game road trip.

Tonight begins a three-game homestand for the Sharks, who are 4-1-0 as the host club this season.

The Rangers are closing out a four-game road trip tonight and are 2-1-0 on the swing so far. They earned an overtime win Wednesday night in Anaheim, as Jaromir Jagr scored the game-winning goal with 1:51 left in the extra session to lift New York to the 4-3 victory.
