(Sports Network) - The St. Louis Blues' offensive woes continued on when the club took the ice Tuesday against San Jose, as Sharks' goaltender made a rather-effortless 29 saves to hand the punchless Blues a 2-0 defeat.

The shutout loss came three days after St. Louis mustered just a single goal in a frustrating 2-1 home loss to Phoenix.

"We've struggled to score goals all year," said Blues head coach Mike Kitchen after the latest setback. "Right now we're really squeezing the sticks. "It just seems like we can't hang on to the puck and we can't make a play."

Tuesday's loss marked the 14th time this season St. Louis has scored two goals or less in a game, and the Blues have dropped every one of those contests. When the team puts up three or more goals on the scoreboard, they are a splendid 7-1-1.

An ability to connect on the power play has been the biggest factor in St. Louis' lack of offensive output. The Blues' 11.2 percent success rate with the man advantage is the second worst in the league, and they are a woeful 2- for-41 in extra-man situations over their last 13 games.
