Martin Lapointe scored late in the third period to give Chicago a 4-3 lead but goaltender Brian Boucher allowed two more goals for the loss. Boucher had 33 saves and Rene Bourque and Lasse Kukkonen each had a goal and an assist.
Mikael Holmqvist lit the lamp for the Blackhawks, who will open a three-game homestand after Saturday's tilt versus St. Louis.
Meanwhile, the Blues have dropped two in a row and are just 2-5 on the young 2006-07 season.
On Friday St. Louis suffered a 3-2 overtime loss against the Vancouver Canucks. Sami Salo netted the game-winning marker as time expired in the extra period to lift Vancouver.
