(Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Penguins seek their first winning streak tonight when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets at Mellon Arena.

On Thursday, Sergei Gonchar scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lead the Penguins over the New York Islanders, 4-3, at Nassau Coliseum.

With the score deadlocked at three, New York's Alexei Yashin got called for a hooking penalty 1:34 into overtime. Gonchar then fired a slap shot just inside the right post on the power play 3:33 into the overtime period for the game- winner.

Michel Ouellet, Nils Ekman and Evgeni Malkin also scored for the Penguins, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Malkin, the second overall selection in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, tallied his second NHL goal and added an assist.

The Russian center played his second game since being sidelined after dislocating his left shoulder in a collision with teammate John LeClair in a pre-season game on September 20. Sidney Crosby added three assists.

Pittsburgh will host New Jersey on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Blue Jackets have dropped two straight, including Friday's 4-2 setback against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
