(Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks shoot for their third consecutive victory tonight, when they open the doors of HP Pavilion for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Sharks had dropped three straight games before defeating Dallas and Detroit in succession.

Thursday's win over the Red Wings was especially impressive, as San Jose pounded the defending Presidents' Trophy winners, 9-4. Ryane Clowe and Mike Grier both scored two goals, as the Sharks erased an early three-goal deficit to earn the easy win at the Shark Tank.

Patrick Marleau, with a goal and three assists, became the all-time scoring leader for the Sharks. Jonathan Cheechoo, Josh Gorges, Christian Ehrhoff and Joe Pavelski each added a goal in the win. Joe Thornton added four assists for the Sharks, who recorded a franchise-record six power-play goals.

San Jose goaltender Evgeni Nabokov allowed three goals in the first period before he was pulled in favor of Vesa Toskala, who finished with 17 saves.

The Sharks, who are 14-7-0 as the host this year, is playing the middle test of a three-game homestand tonight. They will also welcome Edmonton on Wednesday.

Columbus is coming off Friday's solid victory over the Anaheim Ducks, who lead the NHL with 62 points.
