Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - The Columbus Blue Jackets activated center Sergei Fedorov from injured reserve on Monday.

Fedorov suffered a shoulder injury in preseason and is scheduled to be in the lineup for Columbus on Monday against San Jose to make his season debut.

The Blue Jackets acquired Fedorov in November of last year from Anaheim in exchange for center Tyler Wright and defenseman Francois Beauchemin.

The Russian skated in 62 games with Columbus last season and netted 12 goals with 31 assists for 43 points.

The three-time Stanley Cup champion has won the Selke Trophy twice as the NHL's top defensive forward and was the league's most valuable player in 1994, when he notched 56 goals and 64 assists.

Fedorov reall wasn't that much to the team last season, and he is going to have to be very valuable to them this season if they want to make the playoffs. He is going to have to set up Rick Nash a lot.
