(CP) - Michigan is at home against Miami of Ohio for games Thursday and Friday in a showdown between the teams that have captured the last three CCHA regular-season championships.

The Wolverines are 40-2-1 at Yost Ice Arena against the RedHawks, including 19 straight wins dating to November 1994.

Red Berenson, in his 23rd season behind the Michigan bench, needs 13 wins for 600. His roster boasts four NHL first-round draft picks including three on a defensive corps that is led by sophomore Jack Johnson (Los Angeles) who went third overall in 2005.

Sophomore forward Andrew Cogliano scored two goals and assisted on three when Michigan opened the season with non-conference wins over Alabama-Huntsville and Connecticut. The Woodbridge, Ont., native and member of Canada's victorious team at the 2006 world junior championship was a first-round pick of Edmonton in 2005.
