Coach Jacques Martin and Ed Belfour both insisted there was no special significance to Martin's decision to start Alex Auld in goal against Toronto Monday night.

Martin typically gives players the opportunity to face former teams, and there was talk last week that it already had been decided that Belfour would play against Toronto, for whom he played the past three seasons.

True. He may do some awkward things, but he still manages to keep some level of class. :laugh:

On the other hand, the Panthers will be visiting Toronto again on December 19th. A long way away.

I wonder who will be the starting goalie by then. So far, Auld is winning, especially with that effort in Toronto a day ago. What a game he played.

Must have made the loss all the more painful for him though.
