ATLANTA - On Saturday night in Tampa, the Bruins produced a textbook example of the smart, high-pressure, in-your-face hockey that would give them a good chance to win almost any game.
Having executed the system so well in defeating the Lightning, the team’s hope was to remember and reproduce that performance in game after game over the coming months.
The lesson was promptly forgotten last night.
The B’s played that pressure game only in spurts and too often let the talented Thrashers fly in on goalie Hannu Toivonen, whom they solved well en route to a 4-1 victory at Philips Arena.
