(Sports Network) - The Colorado Avalanche shoot for their third straight win tonight when they wrap up a three-game road trip against the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre.

The Avalanche opened the trip with a win over Toronto before posting a victory against Ottawa on Thursday. Brad Richardson had a shorthanded goal late in the second period for the eventual game-winner and Joe Sakic also scored in the 2-1 victory.

Goaltender Jose Theodore turned away 26 of the 27 shots he faced for Colorado, which collected its first win in Ottawa since January 9, 1997.

Montreal has dropped two of its last three games and was handed a 2-1 loss by the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday.

Christopher Higgins scored the lone goal for the Habs, while Michael Ryder and Mark Streit assisted on the play.
