(Sports Network) - The Colorado Avalanche try to end a two-game slide tonight when they visit the Toronto Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre.
Since picking up their first win of the season, the Avs have fallen to Edmonton and Chicago. On Monday they dropped a 5-3 tilt to the Blackhawks in the finale of a three-game homestand. Martin Lapointe scored a pair of goals, including the go-ahead tally early in the third period, to lift the Blackhawks.
Joe Sakic scored and Milan Hejduk had two assists for the Avalanche, who came back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the match in the third period. Tyler Arnason added a goal and two assists.
Jose Theodore finished with 26 saves in defeat.
Sakic, Hejduk and Arnason enter Wednesday's action tied for the team lead with four points.
