(Sports Network) - The Colorado Avalanche will wrap up a three-game homestand this weekend against the red-hot Minnesota Wild.
Colorado opened the homestand on Monday with a 6-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings, but suffered a 5-3 loss to the Washington Capitals on Wednesday.
The Avs will welcome Minnesota to the Pepsi Center on Sunday afternoon.
Andrew Brunette had two goals and an assist to lead the Avs and goaltender Peter Budaj stopped 25-of-29 shots. But the main attention in the loss to the Caps goes to veteran Joe Sakic, who finished with a goal and an assist.
Sakic, the active leader in career points, now has 1,500 points in his career and is the 11th player in NHL history to reach that plateau.
