(Sports Network) - The Colorado Avalanche finish a three-game homestand tonight when they welcome the Chicago Blackhawks to the Pepsi Center.

The Avs have split the first two games against Vancouver and Edmonton, and lost three of their first four games overall. On Saturday they dropped a 4-3 decision to the Oilers, as Petr Sykora and Ryan Smyth each scored twice to lift the visitors.

Colorado peppered Edmonton netminder Dwayne Roloson with 42 shots, but the game still landed in the loss column.

Wojtek Wolski and Tyler Arnason each scored for the Avalanche, who lost in regulation for the first time this season.

Goaltender Jose Theodore finished with 21 saves for the Avalanche.

The Avs will begin a three-game eastern Canadian trip on Wednesday in Toronto.

Chicago, meanwhile, has lost two of its last three games. On Saturday the Hawks dropped a 4-3 tilt in St. Louis. Radek Dvorak's third-period goal proved to be the game-winner for the Blues.
