(Sports Network) - After a brief but successful road trip, the San Jose Sharks return home tonight to battle the Colorado Avalanche at HP Pavilion.

San Jose comes back off victories against a pair of Pacific Division foes. After downing Los Angeles by a 5-2 score Thursday at the Staples Center, the Sharks cooled down a previously hot Phoenix club with a 4-1 decision on Saturday.

Ryane Clowe had two of San Jose's goals and added an assist for San Jose, which won for the fifth time in six games. Joe Thornton added three helpers on the night, while Jonathan Cheechoo scored once and assisted on another goal.

Cheechoo is currently riding a six-point scoring streak and has amassed four goals and five assists during the run. Clowe has been on a tear as well lately, as the rookie has netted eight goals in five games since returning from a groin injury.

Vesa Toskala was strong in net for the Sharks, stopping 29 of 30 chances against the Coyotes.

Tonight's contest marks the first of three consecutive home games for San Jose, which is 15-8-0 as the host this season.

Colorado has won four of its last six and halted a brief two-game slide with Saturday's shootout triumph over Anaheim. Milan Hedjuk's goal in the fourth round was the difference as the Avalanche came through with a hard-fought 3-2 victory.
