Sean Avery will be out indefinitely and will be getting surgery on his wrist on thursday afternoon. The injury resulted from the fight with Darcy Tucker and a Brendan Shanahan slapshot that hit his wrist. How long he will be out for is still undetermined.

He should be back in 2 weeks. Im sure Avery is just making up the Tucker part. He wants to feel satisfied for using tuckers face as a result of the injury. That was a killer shot by Shanny avery took.

From TSN.

New York Rangers' winger Sean Avery will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left wrist on Thursday.
According to the New York Daily News, no timetable for recovery will be set until the "clean-up" operation is complete and the amount of damage is known but Avery is optimistic he will be playing in "10 days to two weeks".
''They're going to take a look at everything,'' Avery told THE CANADIAN PRESS. ''There's a fracture in the hand they're going to clean up a bit.''
Rangers' defenceman Paul Mara underwent the same procedure early in his career and returned to practice within "a couple of weeks".''
As much as we don't want him to miss a single game, the best thing we can do for him and our hockey club is to address that and take care of this thing quickly and have him not miss too much,'' Rangers head coach Tom Renney told THE CANADIAN PRESS.
The Rangers are 9-4-1 with Avery in the lineup and 4-5-1 without his pesky presence.
