Matt Smith of Toronto, a junior forward with Rochester Institute of Technology, was named player of the week after scoring twice in a 6-2 win over American International. Freshman defenceman Al Mazur of Burnaby, B.C., had three assists for the Tigers in the win, while junior goaltender Jocelyn Guimond blocked 35 of the Yellow Jackets' shots.
Dave Jarman of Toronto, a freshman forward at Sacred Heart, was named rookie of the week after getting two goals and an assist in a sweep of Canisius. Jarman scored the winning goal and had an assist in a 5-2 win before adding another goal in a 4-0 victory. Sophomore goaltender Stefan Drew of Dugald, Man., made 30 saves for the shutout in his first game since Nov. 7.
