Jason Smith of Sacred Heart, a senior from St. Lambert, Que., stopped 70-of-74 shots in two draws against Air Force to earn goaltender of the week honours.

Smith registered 35 saves in each stalemate, 3-3 on Dec. 1 and 1-1 on Dec. 2, while keeping Sacred Heart atop the AHA standings with a 7-2-4 record. Dave Jarman of Toronto, a freshman forward for the Pioneers, had a goal and an assist in the series.

Rochester Institute of Technology (R.I.T.) defenceman Dan Ringwald received rookie of the week accolades after compiling a goal and two assists in a weekend sweep of Holy Cross.

The Tigers defeated the Crusaders, 2-1, on Dec. 1 with Ringwald assisting on a goal by sophomore forward Steve Pinizzotto of Mississauga, Ont., while junior goaltender Jocelyn Guimond of Quebec City made 20 saves.

Ringwald and Pinizzotto contributed a goal and an assist each, with Ringwald's being the first of his collegiate career, in a 5-1 R.I.T. victory the following night.

Mercyhurst freshman defenceman Matt Fennell of Melfort, Sask., had his first three-point game, all assists, in an 8-3 win over American International College (A.I.C.) on Dec. 2.

The Lakers and Yellow Jackets split the weekend series; with A.I.C.'s victory on Dec. 1 being its first conference win of the season. Mark Pavli of Sarnia, a junior forward for A.I.C., had two goals in the Dec. 2 loss while Mercyhurst senior forward Scott Champagne of Cornwall, Ont., had a goal in each game.

Casisius junior forward David Kasch of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., tallied two goals and an assist in a weekend series against Bentley.
