Andrew Loewen of Winnipeg, a freshman for Canisius, was named goaltender of the week after a win and tie in the first two-start weekend of his career. Loewen backstopped the Golden Griffins to a 3-1 victory against Mercyhurst, with the lone goal against coming short-handed from sophomore Lakers forward Brett Robinson of Alton, Ont. Mercyhurst tied Canisius, 3-3, on Saturday with Robinson contributing a power-play marker and freshman forward Cody Collins of Winfield, B.C., scoring his first collegiate goal.

Louis Menard of Chicoutimi, Que., Rochester Institute of Technology's freshman goaltender, was named rookie of the week after his 29-save performance in a 5-1 win over Bentley.

RIT junior forward Simon Lambert of Ste-Therese, Que., had two goals and an assist in the win. Bentley defeated RIT in overtime, 3-2, the previous night as Lambert scored a goal for the Tigers and freshman defenceman Dan Ringwald of Oakville, Ont., assisted on two in the defeat.
