On Tuesday an arbitrator awarded New Jersey Devils forward Scott Gomez $5 million for the 2006-07 season, Sportsnet has learned.
Gomez, 26, is set to become an unrestricted free agent after next year. The five-foot-11, 200-pound forward had 33 goals and 84 points in 82 games for New Jersey last season.
