Handing out a plus to Dany Heatley is a no brainer. He recorded his league-high third hat-trick of the season Wednesday night en route to a frachise-tying four-point second period. He became just the second player in the last decade to score at even strength, on the power play and shorthanded in the same period.
Things are just going from bad to worse for Markus Naslund. If 16 games without a goal wasn't already bad enough, how about leaving the puck behind entirely in Wednesday night's shootout.
On behalf of Anton Volchenkov, we dole out a plus to the visor. Wednesday night Daniel Briere fired a slapshot right at his face. Volchenkov got very lucky because the shot hit him square in the visor. Rather than a major injury, he was able to laugh about it.
