Notable: The Wings went into Anaheim and shut down the Ducks, 2-0, last week, taking a 2-1 lead in the season series. The Ducks are on the bubble for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. Through Sunday, three points separated teams 6-9 in the standings

Ice chips

Babcock said he'll start Chris Osgood in net against the Ducks. Osgood shut them out on March 1 in Anaheim, 2-0, and earned a victory Sunday in Chicago.

Manny Legace will start Saturday in Edmonton.

"We rode Manny for a long time," Babcock said. "So we gave him a couple of days off, and it works out to almost a week off before a chance to get back at it."

Ozzie will start tonight! I dunno I like the thought of seeing Manny in there. but I guess he does need the break!

this is the answer to everyone's question. this is the goaltending order for the next two games....

Osgood, Wings snap Ducks' winning streak

Henrik Zetterberg, Mathieu Schneider and Kris Draper scored for the Red Wings, who have won four straight and six of seven. Osgood, who has been Manny Legace's backup this season, got his second straight win in his second consecutive start

so what? anyone heard of his inconsistency all season long? well let me tell you something, this guy is staying a backup. after he screwed up in St.Louis I do not see him coming back to the wings after next season is over. If they dont send him packing this summer.

I think Legace will still be here. he has been consistent and Deserves his chance to be a wing n umber one goalie. Osgood had his chance, in my mind he needs to go to florida or something. I think we would still see a backup. This guy needs to be taken off of our hands instead of laid in our laps. Hes not that great. has one or two good games and then sucks for the next four. I cannot see going anwwhere with him sorry but this guy just isnt the premier goaltender that this team needs.

His glove hand is good. but he lets in alot of over the shoulder goals on his stick side and he has alot of five hole shots that go in. the guy is like swiss cheese. at least manny has some substance in the net and is good at predicting where the puck will end up. Ozzie on the other hand needs to be benched and not played.

Everyone says OZ will lead us to another stanley cup. I say he will get us eliminated. and the only cup we will be parading around are the ones that are worn in games. lets givev manny a chance and if they both dont work out lets get some new goaltending. Im tired of this backwards fight. they should have one goalie and stick to him. not trade them up for two games, then play the other for two games.

Ozzie signed up as a backup. now he has to warm the bench and do wings stats.
