On 1-23-1975 the kansas city scouts went into the historic boston garden and beat Don Cherry and the boston bruins by the score of 3-2 in front of a boston crowd of 13,620.the bruins opened the scoring in the first period with a goal by Bobby Orr only 1:08 into the game.but Randy Rota tied the game up with a goal at the 8:15 mark of the first period.the scouts scored the only 2 goals of the 2nd period by Ed Gilbert and Gary Croteau.but the bruins scored the only 3rd period goal by Johnny Bucyk at the 5:47 mark to cut the scouts lead to 3-2.but with the great goaltending by kansas city goalie Dennis Herron the scouts won the game 3-2. I am sure that don cherry was not happy after this game at the garden.
