sorry to be a bother, but is there any way we can change the draft back to tuesday? i'm busy wednesday night and will be out of town from thursday night until the following tuesday.

amo, i posted this on the league page too, but, considering the minimum scoring settings (G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHG, SHA, GWG, SOG, W, SV, SHO), having SHG and SHA seems excessive and unfair. they're such rare stats. do we need shorthanders at all? what do you think?
  4. Messier VS Stevens

    The NHL Forum
how has no one mentioned that it's messier who's known for throwing the elbows around, not stevens?
  5. Messier VS Stevens

    The NHL Forum
scott stevens never needed to have a room full of cronies for people to respect him. on the other hand, messier minus his cronies = the vancouver canucks' lost years in the late '90s.

maybe one of these yahoo pools could be a keeper league? at the end of the season, we pick keep 6-10 guys on our roster and get to redraft them the following year? and thanks for checking on other draft times.

looking forward to playing again. i can do any weeknight other than thursday. any way we can change the draft date? also, to krypt + others, a lot of us here are good poolies, but because we're all in multiple leagues, it seems like by the end of the season, the HF leagues only have a few...

kim johnsson, very last pick of '94 draft.
  10. European exports

    The NHL Forum
james mirtle thinks this is weakening the overall competitiveness of the NHL. i tend to agree. with the salary cap, there is less NHL money to go around, to the point that it's become more lucrative for certain players to sign in europe than league minimum deals in the NHL. for example, what...
  11. This Summer's Latest Rumblings

    Vancouver Canucks
forsberg's an interesting guy. the NHL was never the biggest deal to him the way it is for most hockey players. he could have played in the NHL at 19, but stayed until he was 21. playing in the '94 olympics was a priority for him and he did it instead of signing a big money contract like...
  12. Greatest Goaltender of All Time

    The NHL Forum
random and probably irrelevant point: glenn hall has the most unbreakable record in the books -- 503 consecutive games played. for me, it goes 1. roy 2. hall 3. tretiak. but i never did see hall play and i only got to see the very end of tretiak's career, so i'm going by hearsay and...
  13. Most lopsided trades in NHL history

    The NHL Forum
a lopsided trade is where one team gets much less than it gets back while the other team gets a lot more than it lost. i've been following hockey since the late '80s and the roy deal is the most lopsided trade i've seen. montreal lost its franchise player and has won just three playoff series...

  17. Canuck fight vids

    Vancouver Canucks
what i liked about the mcgratton fight is that he fought him at all. tails is obviously a huge guy, but he's not as strong as he looks and he's certainly got a lot to learn about how to fight. but mcgratton runs around and the sens bully the sabres and peters can't dress every game. it's nice...
  18. Canuck fight vids

    Vancouver Canucks
reminds me of pyatt's game as a whole. he did okay, but nowhere as good as he's capable of. with his reach, he should have been able to hold vandermeer at a distance with one arm and rearrange his face with the other. most of you will have noticed this bout with mcgrattan linked to the...

  20. What if lowe did this also?

    The NHL Forum
i don't know if this is the case, but st. louis signed scott stevens from washington in 1990 and surrendered 5 first round picks. they then signed brendan shanahan from new jersey and, because they had no picks, had to surrender stevens.
