Who said Sakic isn't going to 2010? Maybe Gretz will do what he did with Mario, as long as he thinks he's capable of playing well enough he'll be on the team.

Anyway...
Sakic "C"
Pronger "A"
Iginla "A"

assuming sakic hasn't retired by 2010, i'm guessing they'll let him play in front of his hometown fans if he wants to.

I really really doubt that SAkic will be still competitive by 2010, but yeah, he deserves to lead his country in front of his hometown.

Thats just silly. :haha:
I may sound crazy, but to tell you the truth, Id rather have Smyth wear the 'A' than Niedermayer.

Joe Sakic is one of the best players in the world, in fact, all time. I'll bet you when he retires he'll be on the top 10 all time scorers list. He can do almost anything. He skates very well, and he maybe the best and certainly the quickest wrist shot I've ever seen. He's a world class player and a great leader. He deserves to be the captain of Team Canada.

He's captained team Canada at the Worlds over and over and has done a great job. He's as tough as nails and he's not afraid to take a puck of the side of the face standing in front of the net. That's what makes a leader.

did anyone ever notice that out of all the people who got votes that Thornton never got the one? so does everyone here think that thornton would be better off not as a Captin? and who do you think should be captin of the sharks? thornton or Marleau? there both good leaders but who do you think really deserves the C?
