I'm looking to get ice skates for hockey and I'm not sure which ones to buy. I have a wide foot and I've tried on skates....size 3 1/2 (juniors) fit me good. But I have a screw in my left ankle that pokes out a little bit so I need something maybe with a little bit of cushioning on the ankle. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much!!!
Hey there...I have to say that in my opinion, CCM is your best bet. Bauer makes great skates like the TotalOne line, but they are kinda narrow. I too have had surgery with pins in my ankle. I skate with the CCM U+ line and love them. If you go to http://hockeystores.org there are reviews of both of these lines. They are pricey but probably last skate you will need. Also a key, they can be heated in your oven and then put on and they will mold to your foot and ankle so the screw in your ankle will not be bothered. Good luck.
Yeah I think CCM U+ are the way to go. I like the Crazy Lights. I think Ovechkin uses these. Heard bad things on Reebok but maybe not the norm. Bauer great but narrow.
