I want to play, but then I'd be the only girl in school playing, and I'm not sure if there are any Women's teams around here. So, I was wondering if I could have pro's and con's on both? Thanks.
Pro: it will make you a better, stronger player in the long run. If you can hang with the boys, you will absolutely dominate any girl you play against eventually.
Con: the boys are probably going to be able to dominate you physically and you will have to work a lot harder in order to compete with them.
If they do, just give them a little attitude, talk a little trash, show them up a bit and Im sure their pride will make them not go easy on you.
Teenage boys hate being showed up by a girl.
I wish you the best of luck.
No, not yet. My gym teacher keeps forgetting to get me the info from the coach. I also think I'm going to practice by myself before I try out. Thanks for asking though.
Any way you can get the info from the coach yourself? Id hate to see you miss your chance to try out for the teach just because the gym teach might have some macho guy ego thing going on.
I used to play with all boys from the age of 10 until I was 15. At the age of 10 boys dont really have that much macho-ness behind them so it was alright lol. A couple of girls came and went but it was mainly just me as the girl. It does make you stronger for it playing with all boys, and as long as they dont go easy on you, youll be prepared for anything when entering the womens team.
Good luck with your tryouts!
