I mean seriously? I know you want a variety of players from different teams, but your telling me Alex Semin isn't among the top 53 forwards in the NHL? That is absolutely ridiculous to me. There are some who I think Semin is better than, that I can live with them putting over. But some of these decisions are ridiculous. Derek Roy? Thomas Vanek? Milan Hejduk? R.J. Umberger? Ales Hemsky? David Booth? Ryan Smyth? Brian Gionta? Even my boy T.J. Oshie I don't think should be on here over Semin.

Right now Semin is 2nd in goals and 4th in points in the NHL. He kills penalties, not to say he's the best defensive forward but he can hold his own. I just find this crazy.

I'm sure this is some attempt on the NHL's part to make things "fair", to give fans of all teams to cheer and wish for. Where it gets silly is leaving somebody like Semin off the board.

Semin should replace Oshie. Isn't Oshie out for 3 months after ankle surgery?

Like Daryl says, I think it is more of the League trying to make things "fair" and trying give every team a potential representative.

I only read this for like 3 seconds, but weren't Semin and Giroux left of the list? Semin obviously even more deserving so far, but both should be on their over other players.

I think they should just cap it at four people from any one team on the ballot. There's four teams (Blackhawks, Red Wings, Flyers and Sharks) with more than four players on the ballot, cutting them down to four would open up five spots for other players.

Drop Campbell and Seabrook from the Blackhawks' list. Drop Rafalski and Franzen from the Red Wings' list, then add Howard. Drop Briere and Carter from the Flyers' list, then add Giroux. Drop Niemi from the Sharks' list.

Then add Alexander Semin, Loui Eriksson, John Michael-Liles, Keith Yandle and Biznasty. Guys that are currently injured and will be injured during the All-Star game (such as Oshie) can have other players subbed into their spot before voting opens on Monday. It's all electronic, although the NHL will probably just ignore that fact.

There's always write-in votes, I guess.
