I think they are going to have an exciting season. I look forward to watching them.
What do you think Kolzig will do this year? Will he be traded, demand to be traded, act as backup goalie, share the load 50/50 with Huet or retire? I think Kolzig definitely has more years in him. The Caps were really on their toes when they picked up Huet even though same say he did not play that well in the playoffs. I think he played fairly well.

I think they are kind of a wild card. They have some good players on their offense and Theodore between the pipes, but I'm not a huge fan of their defense. And I believe it was rumored that Federov might be leaving (I'm not 100 percent on that?)... but like I said. They are a wild card this year.

the caps have a goalie problem with the Huet trade right after Kolzig retiered but on offense its impossible beat ovechkin and him and backstrom are the dynamic duo. in deffese mike green was one of the best defesneman last season. fedorov is one the greatest players of all time so watch out flyers. Their new coach led them to the 3rd seed spot after a horrible start so i would not be surprised if they got in the semifinals.

First off, watch out Flyers? They play 4 times this year? The Caps need to watch out for everyone else.

Second, Kolzig didn't retire. He's with Tampa Bay.

Mike Green had one good year. We'll see if he can keep it up. One good year doesn't make you one of the best d-men in the league. He's still no where near a Lidstrom or anyone of that caliber.

I expect to see a few Caps games this year in Washington as I expect to be in Quantico from Oct - June...

Not a Mike Green fan. Fairly puck skilled but I thought he was gonna cry a few years ago when Gratton went after him in Hershey.

They can demote John Erskine anytime though. I wanna see him in Hershey.

Darren Machesney was the man in Hershey last year after Fredddie Cassivi started to lose his edge.
