i really dont think crosby nor ovechkin are the best OVVERRALL. i think datsyuk or zetterberg are obviousely the best two way players. ovechkin is the best goal scorer in the league probably and crosby is good too but overrall they arent the best. heres what i say

goal scoring- ovie

passing-datsyuk or crosby

defense-besides defensemen like lidstrom i would say like i said datsyuk or zetterberg. zetterberg as of now.

overrall- datsyuk

Malkinnis is the best in the season this year but has no been as great as crosby in the playoffs so i say sid the kid!!

The Wings are a very, very good team, but lets not overrate Datsyuk and Zetterberg here. You're acting like they're the top 2 players in the league. If Detroit was offered Crosby and Ovie for Zetter and Datsyuk, you honestly think they wouldn't take it? They are both top end defensive players, but they also benefit from the smothering D that is Detroits system. Any player in the league would look better defensively playing on the Wings. Put Datsyuk or Zetterberg on the Caps and no one is talking about their defense.

I would say the best player is Ovechkin. Possibly Malkin.
