Which works out to being one of your favorite players. Hell, Dan Cleary is one of my favorite players on the Red Wings, but I would never even suggest that he's anywhere near the best players in the league.
You can defend your opinion of them being the "best" only so much with the defense that they're the best player in the NHL to you (stop with the capitalization, we get it), however, the rest of the best players have some sort of reasoning to why they're named the best players in the NHL other than just playing on a certain team.
Crosby, Malkin and Ovechkin are generational talents. Usually there's only one or two during a generation and there's three now, it's a good time. Datsyuk and Zetterberg are fantastic two-way players, capable of playing in any situation, putting up a PPG and shutting down the other team's top lines. You can have the opinion that Erat and Arnott are the best, but what exactly about their play is on par with the players that are almost universally panned as the best in the league?
Erat's on the level of a Huselius. Not the "best", and Arnott was productive, but is clearly on the decline of his career now.
Of course, you'll probably quote me and give a reply like "Erat and Arnott are the best TO ME! That's my OPINION!! They are GOOD at things!!!!" Back up your opinion with statistics or some sort of proof, because everything that Erat and Arnott are good at, there's someone in the NHL who does what they do so much better.
