Not a bad start for our new Goalie. 3-0 shut out of the Devs.

I think NJJ did the whole team a favour buy not starting Brodeur. I think that is why our scoring totals from lst year where a bit screwed. Does anyone else remember facing a ton of backup goalies last year?

We played Valiquette like 3 times and irrc he had 2 wins.

Oh well, if teams think we are the team to rest their #1's against then give'r. Should help us climb out of the lottery pick position.

Dion Phaneuf! Nothing like a good scrap to start a carreer in Toronto.

Sjostrom with an assist. He is on a ppg pace as a Leaf.

HEy we're a better team for the deals. CGY got great value. Three of the best players on the Leafs. ANH is just going to love Blake. Who knows maybe he gets going with Selanne and Koivu?

I heard Blake's comments and I have no problem with them. I would feel the exact same way. From day one no one wanted him here. The 4M dollar whipping boy. Good luck to you Mr. Blake, but in all honesty, good riddance.

Now that u mention it we did face quite a few back ups last year Lol. But the thing with Valiquette was he played well against the leafs. Until that one 3rd period when we scored 5 in just under 6 minutes.

Giguere with his second shut out in as many games with the Leafs. Giguere is now 2-0 0.00 1.00% with the leafs

Oh well, it's not like Giggy was going to pull a Boucher or anything.

The Leafs did enough to win. They simply need more offense.

Atleast there is enough here as a foundation to build a team that will contend for a playoff spot next year. Before BLUE SUNDAY, if I may coin a phrase, I was not looking forward to another bottom 4 in the East finish next year. NOw I have some hope we will fight for a playoff spot.

8th would be fine with me.

Its actually spelt Jiggy, but I think Jiggy will be good in helping the Leafs younger players develop, he has already done a bit with Caputi, helping him out on where to stand and what to do on the PP, in order to screen the goalie better.

He will also help Gustavsson quite a bit I think, he has a big contract, but that won't matter too much this off-season, due to the fact of the low talent available.

I know the accurate spelling of Jiggy is with the J but seeing as how his name is Gig(gy)uere, I'll go with the G.

I saw some clips of when he first got to Toronto and he was standing behind the net at practice helping coach Gustavsson. So he appears to be a true team player which is the kind of attitude this franchise needs in the dressing room.
