I can remember many Leaf's fans chuckling about this trade when it happened, but the SS Hal Gil had situations that made him valuable(PK and such).

The other thing that is funny is that TSN has him listed as one of the top 15 free agent defensman this season.

I think he did a good job in Pittsburgh, stayed at home, stuck to the fundamentals and played very well defensively.

Perhaps it was their system, but he looked pretty good to me.

more like Hal Skills...

the Toronto man-to-man defencive coverage didn't work for Gil. He excells on the PK because playing the box is a pretty structure system. With a 6 and a half foot stick he's a tank out front.
