Default Leafs off season plans

For the 4th consecutive season the leafs have missed the post-season. So that brings me to this who do you think is being shipped, picked up and drafted during this summer ?

I've probably already stated this but if Kaberle is not dealt at the draft or whenever his NTC is up this off season I will be very surprised.

It would seem to make sense, but as Burke has staed many times, as soon as he moves a D-man like Kaberle he will be out looking to replace him the next day. At only a 4.25 cap hit Kaberle is one of the best deals in the league.(compare him to Campbell at over 6M and he looks even better.) If everyone would stop talking about trading him and just let him play I believe he would return to the player we saw the first 7 years in Toronto.

You ask Ovechkin if he would trade his Art Ross and Richard Trophies, to trade places with Sidney Crosby last June.

The Leafs can replace Kaberle a lot more easier with respectable players in the system. They need forwards and moving Kaberle can fill some of that void while being replacable in the system.

The Leafs will attempt to trade up in into the top 3 in the draft.

While the Leafs have publically stated that they want Tavares, I think they would be just as happy with Hedman or Duchene.

To make that deal they would need to trade Kaberle.

I think they will throw about 5.5 towards Cammalleri and about 6.5 towards Bouwmeester.

If Bouwmeester would sign for that figure, they would ship out Kubina.

If they can sign Gustavson they will let Gerber walk, if not they will attempt to resign him. Although they might have their sights set on Craig Anderson.

I would also not be surprised to see them throw slightly larger money at Bouwmeester or Camm on a 1-yr deal.

Who is going to replace Kabs?

Sifers?
Strahlman?

the only guy who had the skills to replace Kabs was traded because he was injury prone. Plus Coli brought a physical side to his game that KAbby never had.

The Leafs needs to learn from DET and keep young talent in the minors. Burke seemed to be doing it with Bobby Ryan in Anaheim and look what he has done. Tlusty appears to have benifitted from some Minor league experience. I thought sending Williams down was a mistake but perhaps it is for the best. Mitchell has become a great utility man after several years in the system. We will be OK.
There will be a great NHLer at # 7 it is up to the LEafs scouting staff To identify him.

Looking throught reports of off season plans it seems as thought the Leafs will be going after the Sedin Twins, Camallerie, Bouwester, and possibly Sundin for one last run at the play offs with Toronto
