right now the prospect out of the NHL/AHL have been exciting to watch develop. Stephanovich, finished in the Q with third most goals in the league, and had the second highest goal per game average behind a guy who is two years his senior. Then DiDomeniceo, had another huge season in the Q finally getting some recognition by team Canada winning gold winging Esposito. He has grown alot and both him and Stephanoivh have develop some of the strongest two-play in the QMJHL at the moment. Then our third Q prospect CHampaign(SP?) has had a huge season since he got traded with 49 points in 25 games.
Dale Mitchille impressed me this playoffs with the Spits, I got to see him a couple times and he is quick, shot is acurate and he knows how to pay the price , he has Tucker's offensive streak wih Domi's build and I thin he will be a key contributor from the third line in successful leaf teams of the future.
For the season, I think we say some great Development from Scheen over the course of the season, what makes me smile the most is that Scheen is only 19-20, and hasn't even finished growning, he will be an absolute behemoth on the blueline when he is 25 and if the Leafs don't screw him up, he will be an all-star player in years to come.
Garbovsky was good, though he is foul tempered and does some stupid stuff when he's angry. He is not as young as our other prospects and so I don't expect fast improvement from him from last season to next season. He is a decent 2nd line centre on a subpar team but that is all really. In the future when Toronto is competive he will either move to the wing or move to another team.
Mitchell is quick and dominate in his own end, I am confident he will develop into a strong 4th liner in the future, his forechecking is great and his defence is solid, if he doesn't run into any ingury problems he will be a great secondary contributor on this team.
Kulemin really impressed me with his determination with a team that doesn't have the talent level he needs yet. He had a productive season if you consider he spent some time in the 4th line and AHL, he looks to be a strong player on the puck he was largely successful at the beginning of the season because of it. He also demonstrated great playmaking ability which is strang as he came out of Russia as a goal scorer/forechecker. WHat he needs to develop over the Summer is some confidence in himself and he needs to shoot more, I will be looking for around 25 goals from him next season and I know he is capabile of it.
Tlusty looked good when called up and has really solidified himself as a two-way guy for the Marlies, I hope to see him move up to the NHL this season in a top 6 role. If he can work on his offensive skills during the summer I doubt Wilson will say Tlusty doesn't deserve to play in the NHL again.
WIlliams is hardly a prospect he does the same thing every year. PLays 1-12 games scores for the first few and then falls of the planet. He has no consistency and I think if he wants a spot on the Leafs he has to play more like a Mitchell then a Garbovsky.
