So Leafs get Grabovski, I've only seem him play once or twice but he looks quite decent and will definitely boost our team for the upcoming season. Did we give up too much in an 18 year old prospect and a future 2nd round draft pick? I know this guy's only 24 himself, but I still don't like the idea of giving up draft picks, even if they are in the 2nd round.

Pateryn is a defenceman, so I'm guessing that the idea is that Toronto is deep in that position (when it comes to prospects) so Fletcher decided to use him as trade bait for Grabovski. That along with the 2nd rounder in 2 years' time.
It might also mean that a forward like Matt Stajan may be on the way out, since Toronto signed Dominic Moore back this year, and the Leafs did say that they expect Grabovski to be on the starting roster this season (Fletcher says that he looks to have him contribute "right away").
Hopefully he's as good as Montreal fans have been talking about. He looked alright in the games I saw him play. He's very skilled with the puck.

I guess we cannot see the effects of this trade immedatley. All I know if that HFs had Grabovski rated as Montreal's #1 prospect. Patyern was a 5th rounder this year, though he seemed talented, I really cannot say if I am happy or unimpressed as I have not really seen either play that much.
