Someone that isnt' well known but has success in the minors. Right now if I was a coach or GM in the NHL, I'd avoid that black hole unless it was a choice between there and starving to death.

But since I'm not, and I am short on coin, where do I send my resume?

If he could stand up for himself he'd still be in Edmonton.

I would like to see who is being fired this off season before I commit to a coach, because I think if Ron Wilson or Joe Quinnville are releashed then one of these two guys would be my ideal choice for coach right now.

I would definalty like to see Gilbert move up though if these two are either not available or reject us, and then I would like to see Gillmore move into a coaching role either as an assistant on the Leafs or coach on the Marlies.

As General Manger positions go, Bowmen, Yzerman or Burke are my top choices, but they all don't seem too likely this season at least so I think a guy like Neil Smith or Armstrong would be great, someone with a ring is who this team needs, we need an arcitech for greatness, not some scout who thinks his a gm, like Jr or Nonis.

I want someone who has shown that they can make the NHL playoffs on a consistent basis. Ron Wilson so far comes to mind.

I don't know if Quennville is going anywhere though.

Whatever the case be though, the team would probably need a GM first.

Something tells me Burke will be the Gm come July 1st and he will then hire Ron Wilson as his coach. Once thats taken care of, he will then tell Peddie and the board to **** off

...and be fired the next day.

Remember it's Peddle and the clout of the teachers union that is calling the real shots. Any GM coming in has to realize this, and barring a radical chance I doubt they'll get completely autonomy over the MLSE's prize plum.

Greg Gilbert has fallen into the same pitiful win now deal that all Leafs coaches fall into with his asinine tact of starting Clemmenson for the AHL playoffs.

He should be fired from the Marlies, not promoted to the Leafs.

I think good luck even getting anyone close to Bowman.

Because if what my friend - a goalie and NHL fan for many years says is true, the Leafs havent won since '67 because they have been more interested in making money than in building true Stanley Cup contenders.

Leafs search committee will meet with former Dallas GM Doug Armstrong sometime this week regarding the club's vacant GM position.
