As long as there´s certain financial profit for the Maple Leaf S&E group, we´ll be seeing more games like yesterday´s.

OH BABY BRING OUT THE SALAMI AND CHEESE!!
Detroit maybe...Anaheim, I'm willing to bet against. No team is going to win the cup with their lack of offense. It's been brutally evident over the last couple weeks. 19 of their 57 games (=1/3) have resulted in Anaheim scoring 1 or 0 goals. Add in the number of games where they've scored 2 and it gets ugly. Anaheim is 29th in the league in average goal scoring and the only reason their even in the hunt is because their 6th in average goals against. It's only a little bit, but they do have a negative differential. They're 22nd in power play and 16th in penalty kill. This team simply isn't good enough to win the cup. Maybe Selanne gives them a boost, who knows, but I don't see them winning the cup unless something drastic happens at the deadline.

We'll see if Detroit can keep from tripping over themselves this year.

Default John Buccigross's evaluation of the LEAFS

And I quote:

Quote:
This will be the third straight season where the Maple Leafs will miss the playoffs. The last time that happened? The late 1920s. No Stanley Cups in over 30 years. And folks still shell out $300 a ticket. It's quite remarkable how the Leafs have built a financially secure brand out of losing. Time to trade to everybody and start over. And I mean EVE-RY-BO-DY. I would actually trade every player on the roster and finish the season with prospects and AHL players.

Oh, right. He must have been thinking about Philadelphia when he wrote that.

Hopefully Toronto unloads Mats. That should be the final nail in the coffin of the 2008 Toronto Maple Leafs.

If he goes, than it'll be a Happy Tank year for everyone!!!
