2-1 Leafs leading the Islanders. Sundin needs a single point to pass sittler, whether a assist or a goal he'll break 2 milestones in one.

SCORES!
Kaberle assisted by Blake and Sundin.
Sundin is now the all time leader in points on the leafs and 2nd in assists passing sittler!
Only the goals record is left to go.

Apon further review Sundin still sits tied with Sittler. But Matty Stajan is having an awesome game tonight, someone ate their mini wheats

Congrats to Mats Sundin, now the Leafs all-time leading point getter and goal scorer!
An 8-1 drubbing of the Islanders is just what this team needed after the Carolina beating.Stajan with a 4 point night,Wozniewski with his 1st career goal and Gamache with a goal and an assist in his Leafs debut, what a sweet night!
Cheers

Congrats to Mats Sundin - All-time Leader in Goals and points for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
As for the game itself, it isn't a surprise as this has happened before. They show us why they're not a Cup Contending team one night, and then than they blow out a team the next night and the win 3-4 games in a row, and then all of a sudden we forget about the mediocre defence and the passengers and minor leaguers on offence.
December of 05-06, they lose 8-2 to Ottawa, and then go on a 7-1 run, starting off with a memorable 9-6 win over the New York Islanders... only to miss the playoff afterwards, due to inconsistent play.
January of 06-07, they lose 8-2 to Pittsburgh, and then win 5 in a row. We all knw how the seaso nwent afterwards.
My opinion is not going to sway. This is not a good Hockey club. The Leafs need to improve., and I'm never convinced by the sudden blowouts. There is too much dead weight to be truely effective. I'm wondering how things will be when Bell and Wellwood return. Hopefully overated players like Chad Kilger will finally be let loose - but not likely. The hype this guy receives is unwarranted IMO.
Maybe Antropov can be used for trade bait (yes, it's been said for years, but he's still there just about to start reaching his full potential)
This team needs to change, yet somehow the line-up is almost exactly the same way as last year. Everyone in the line-up is the same except for Jason Blake. JFJ at his finest.
Unfortunately, SportsCenter and SportsNet will jump on TO's high horse and play to the hype just to get people watching.
Yup, the Leafs will do it this year - NOT!... or, at least not with this team they won't.

It got a chuckle out of me, but not really. I mean, my youth is going out the window here.
A few days after the original announcement from Blake about his problem, it's back to normal again... which is to be expected.
40 years from now, I'll almost be 60 years of age, and at the current rate that the management team is going at... well, let's just say that I'm hoping for something to suddenly change in that time.
A miracle of sorts to end this vicious cycle.
Yes, you heard me - VICIOUS!!! This is fan abuse!

Good Lord you are still a baby! Believe me this current crop of owners are comparable to Ilitch in Detroit when you then compare them to Harold Ballard. I lived my teens and early 20's under that maniac so believe me when I tell you, you are getting off easy!!
