Default Advice on the best and cheapest hotels closest to the Air Canada Centre??

Hi, me and the wife are looking to come over to Toronto next November for a week and hopefully take in a couple of Leafs games, as it will be our first time in Toronto any help on the best and cheapest hotels too stay in would be much appreciated? and also the closer to the Air Canada Centre the better

Me and the wife are also partial to the odd drink or two so any help on the best bars to go to would be very helpful...

Thanks in advance.
Mark Pitman.

My best advice to you is don't even bother. Unless you are made of money, but the transit system is pretty good in Toronto with 24 hr service in most areas. Try hotels.ca and or expedia.ca and stick close to the north/south subway line. If you look hard enough you might find a decent room for about 129.00 per night, plus taxes, a few subway stops away from downtown Toronto.

Hi thanks for your reply, would you know what the Days hotel and conference centre is like at 30 Carlton Street as we have priced this hotel already and it seems quite reasonable? is this anywhere near a Toronto Transit station?
Thanks Mark.

Its a nice hotel, and is pretty much right on top of College Station. Take the southbound train about 4 stops to Union Station and your at the ACC

As far as the ACC is, his bar is pretty much in the same area as the ACC and The Rogers Center. Whats real close to that hotel, is the Grand lady herself. Maple Leaf Gardens, their old home, the building they won their last 2 cups.
