GDT: Atlanta Thrashers @ Toronto
Decided to put this in it's own thread instead of cluttering up the General Discussions
Man this has been a game that would be best-described as a see-saw battle. Sundin and Antropav vs Hossa and Ilja (I'm nto going to massacre his last name)
Some observations halfway through:
When you one of the worst PK vs one of the worst PP, it seems the PP wins.
Toronto.....man what is with their fetish with the penalty box? It's killed them for years, and tis' still killing them even now.
Speaking of horrid qualities, can someone tell Maurice that defence is what this team needs in spades? Watching players skate circles around the net without being challenged or hit.....that's just wrong. Of course it seems when they do, they do it in a way to get penalties so...
I really hate the excuses that announcers and fans have for Toronto losing. The icing issue that Atlanta scored off the next faceoff. They're arguing that the bad call was the reason they were behind 2-1. No, the icing put it in your zone. The **** defensive work on Ilja led to Atlanta's goal.
And last, but not least.....I love broadband TV. Go Atlanta, I need the win.

Yea, bad call or not, with 46 seconds left in a period you have to defend it.
All tied 3-3 heading to the 3rd. Good thing about this is the Leafs don't have the lead so they can still win it

Don't you just hate leading the game going into the 3rd Period? I mean, who would want that?
Anyway, I can't see the game right now, so I'm following that "Real Time" scoreboard on NHL.com (and watching the painful highlites on NHL on the Fly). It's a really interesting feature, as it's nearly right on the play (about 2 minutes ahead of the internet radio broadcast)

If yoru location can handle it, I'd suggest look at the thread i made abotu centre ice. It's what I'm using to watch it.
And wow....the Leafs get their 3rd PP....and then give ti away on a hooking penalty (which was a bit iffy if you ask me)
