Carlo gets to watch yet again
Defenceman Carlo Colaiacovo's sore knee is likely to keep him out of the Maple Leafs' season opener on Wednesday, creating a small window for other hopefuls.
"Carlo has tendonitis and he's in quite a bit of pain," coach Paul Maurice said.
"I'm not optimistic (he'll face the Ottawa Senators), which has more to do with how Carlo's recovery history has been."
Colaiacovo also would likely miss the Leafs' second game on Thursday and their third on Saturday.
Colaiacovo might have hurt himself by getting on the ice in mid-August, joining many Leafs for informal pre-camp workouts. But pain developed after just two exhibition games. Though he can do off-ice workouts, the general pain tolerance isn't worth further risk.
FULL STORY
Like I said Guys Carlo won't Play Until Mid October at best.
Some of you did not Believe My Source.
If anyone wants the starting line-up before it comes out please let me know

Why the hell would you be happy about this? Any idiot could have figured this out with him being in only 2 exhibition games.
Bravo to your magical "source".

Mikey I said this at the start of Camp. so don't get mad.
I am not happy that Carlo is out again I am happy that my source was right from the start of camp like it is most of the time.
By the way Carlo is not that great anyways, the Leafs have better D man then Carlo. If Carlo was so good why have the Leafs been trying to trade him all year? Well I will tell you why it's because Leaf Brass are sick and tired of him being on the D-List so offten.
I know you guys don't know me and that's find but I am here to tell that I know alot of people in the game and I know things before most people do.

I'm not sure why you have beside the thread name when informing us that a player is injured. Doesn't seem all that friendly to me.

I really question Maurice on this one. If there was questions about his knee at the start of camp as Feisty #2 says then why the hell would they play him in 2 exhibition games.
Maurice looks to have really stepped in it by playing Carlo and Welly early. Those guys were pegged for major roles this year, and Maurice went and threw them into an exhibition game after 2 days of camp.
Gah... Why can't the Leafs get anything resembling decent management.

Can your "source" provide you with any info on why the Leafs would play him in exhibition games if they thought he was too injured to be ready for opening night?

I was thinking the same thing, but I don't know if Maurice is to blame. As I understand it (and I could be wrong), it's the responsibility of the team doctors to green-light injured players before they return to action. Anybody know the details of the process? I'd be curious.
Anyway, I can't help but think of last season. Kaberle missed the World Championships due to the concussion he suffered on the Janssen hit... yet he came back to play for Toronto prior to the Worlds.
Medical decisions are hard to judge from our position in the peanut gallery, but on the surface there appears to be a disturbing pattern here.

This is what I can tell you subby13 Carlo Got Medical Clearence from the doctors to practice & play with the team.
From what I have been told is that when this new management took over they fired all the medical staff which was one of the best in the league, no reason was given for the firing. Then they hired this medical staff which is not have a great track record around the league. Tomas Kaberle is great point subby13.

Gloating because a key player is hurt. Are you ever an ignorant and arrogant individual. You lucked out and get right on one thing so you happen to have some fabulous source? Who is the source, your fortune cookie. Ever heard the phrase even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile. I think that applies here.
It is amazing how excited you are to get something right from your probably self-fabricated source. If your source was real and so reliable you wouldnt be that excited about one of your claims being right, it would be expected and not that big a deal. The fact you get so excited since you lucked out and got one thing right says it all.
