I think this team can make the playoffs. Remember they were two points short last season playing with a lineup that was fairly similar to the one now. I'm not sure how well we'd do in the playoffs, but we've surprised people (so far) in the regular season so who's to say that we can't pull that off in the playoffs? There is alot of talent on this team. Wellwood, Stajan, Ponikarovsky and yes even Antropov are young players who have been playing well this season. Alex Steen has struggled, but he has potential to be an offensive contributer. Don't forget veterans such as Sundin and Tucker, who have put up lots of offense and even a Jeff O'Neill, who has been solid this season.
McCabe and Kaberle have really stepped it up in the back end with their play and a guy like Ian White has offensive skills too. Don't forget that Kubina is back in the lineup so that only improves the Leafs defensively, IMO. Raycroft has been solid in net and Aubin is a quality backup who is solid when called upon (for example against Montreal on Saturday). Definitely reasons to look up. Although, the Leafs have 69GF versus 62GA the addition of Kubina back into the lineup will help.
There is definitely reason to believe that this Leaf team is capable of making the playoffs and if they continue playing this way they are capable of making some noise, IMO.

Agreed. They are by no means a Cup contender, but anything can happen in the playoffs if they can make it. They may be able to make some noise, afterall it's a whole new season in the playoffs.
Why are they not going to be able to? Seriously, why? Sundin isnt out for the season, and theyve done well without him so far. There is only 1 young goalie and thats Raycroft and he isnt that young at 26. Aubin is almost 30. I'm guessing you really have no idea what you're talking about.
Please, the leafs always fall appart before the playoffs. I just don't think they have enough depth or good enough management to keep up at the pace that they started or to come out of a mid-late season slump, which isn't too rate on any team

Care to give exmaples of the Leafs propensity to, as you put it, "always fall apart before the playoffs"? Heck they didn't even make the playoffs last year, and it was far from "falling apart".

The fell apart huge right before the playoffs. Winning 14 of 16 games before the playoffs.
If the Leafs really want to make some noise in the playoffs, they need to get some wins now, collect some points, so that making the playoffs really isn't in jeopardy.
I think the biggest difference between this year and previous years is that this team is better conditioned, and is playing a system. Systems don't crumble like letting all players go out and do what they feel is right can.

Good. So we are in agreement. You clearly dont know anything about the team.
