Game 2: Leafs @ Flyers
It was a decent game, where we lost, and the two days off that could truly benefit sundin and nolan (nolan really doubtful)..
the Leafs played well, they just need to crank it up a notch and play better defensiefly, and adjust to the fact that Philly goes to the net.
all in all a good game shapes up for sunday.
remember, keep everything in perspective, and treat this team like teh ebb and flow, and we've got to have faith and hope. let's not throw ourselves off the wagon no matter how rocky it guess...
thoughts and predictions people.

Leafs are gonna crack down on people in the blue paint around belfour, Roberts is going to keep up his good forchecking,...maybe antropov will show up and give some good hits. Mogilny will start to shine, and sundin will be back to help win the game.
Im going with 3-2 Leafs win

I think most people including leaf fansd expected a loss last night. I was expecting them to get blown out and that didn't happen so I walk away from this game with even more confidence that the leafs can win this series. 2 days off now to relax, then 2 nore after game 2. How sweet is that?

i didn't expect a BLOWout...not the way Eddie's playing..
I was talking to my friend and said this could go any two ways
1: the Leafs barely win, because they take control of the "rusty" Flyers (this would be accomplished if they scored first, i think. remember, w/o the deflection it was a 1-1 hockey game coming into the third)
2: the Leaf barely lose because they're playing on adreneline from game seven.
what i don't really understand is this: why are the leafs flying back home only to fly down saturday afternoon? wouldn't it make more sense to kick back at the hotel and not accumlate all those frequently flyer miles? i know in a way it's good for them to rest @ home, in their own beds, but still....away from toronto media for 2 whole days......
speaking of which. THIS benefits the leafs. 4 days of rest between yesterday and sunday and games 3-4 i think. that's pefect for Sundin/Nolan who when they come back should make a HUGE difference....

Their hotel is 50 minutes outside of town becasue everything else is booked for a marathon, so the story goes and plus they have 2 days off and the FU center is booked so they can't practice.

I think for the Leafs to have a chance Mogilnily has to step up big. Remember he had a hat trick in game 1 of the series last year but since his hip surgery he's been a different player and his skating is getting worse. He's the X factor for me.

I think that the Leafs will benefit from the two days off. They didn't play a bad game yesterday and if they are able to get some more offense going on Esche they will be rewarded. Kaberle may need to sit because he looks so mismatched out there.
I'm going with 2-1 Leafs.

Well i actually thought the leafs would steal game 1, wonder what the score would have been if you had klee or McCabe going against Amonte and Gagne, that was brutal and i have to forget it and move on
The rest is really going to help the leafs more then philly, philly played saturday, then not again until last night, now they have to sit around until sunday, thats a lot of time off in between games and it would be hard to get into the games with them being so spread out. Hopefully Mats is ready to go by sunday, if not, i would like to see niewy on the top line.
The leafs have to work on their damn pp, it looks awful out there, no passing no quarterback, no nothing IMO... lets not disregard phillys good pk., but still lets get some passing in and shots on net during the pp, instead of wasting away 2 good pp in the start of the game
bench kaberle, to soft in front of belfour, we need to clear those guys on in front of the net, bring belak in for a game on d and see how he does, or even drake berohosky
we need some STRONG forechecking, kapenen looked scared to go into the corners after that roberts hit, score the crap out of phillys d by hitting them every chance you can get, if you do that, they will think twice about going into the corner for the puck resulting in turnovers in their own zone
