Stajan played a game or two last year in April - looked very good. I was hoping we’d get to watch him play this year. He needs to bulk up a bit (6’1” 178 lbs) but he’s only 19 so that will happen sooner or later.
In the season opener today against Montreal, Stajan appeared to be the only Leaf that bothered to show up. Well, Roberts showed up if you want to count excessively ****ty play rather than indifference like the rest of the team.

Quinn had Stajan on fourth line duty (he played what 5 or 6 minutes last game). Maybe he wants Stajan to gain some defensive skills... don’t know. I think I would have moved him to the wing and put him on with Sundin since Mogilny is out anyway. Would be a huge confidence boost.
When Mogilny comes back or if things don’t work out, then move Stajan back.
I’d also get Antropov to center the fourth line. He needs a kick in the pants right now.
Any opinions on this?

ya that would give any player a confidence boost. But can Stajan help Sundin get points? maybe....Quinn should try it...you need to try line changes before you say no.

If it takes Matt Stajan to get Mogilny and Sundin going, then that is sad. Sundin has had his chances so far, but just isn't capitalizing. If it get's close to 10-15 games and he still has barely any production, then fine, I can understand the worry, but not yet!!!

Jebus Craven, are you deliberately obtuse or is it an inherited condition? The point was to prop up Stajan not Sundin.
Oh... and please, don’t come back with some bull**** comment that I didn’t understand your argument.

I actually think it was to help Sundin. He isn't producing the way I (and i think others) have thought he should...0 points so far...10-15 shots?

Well then, I apologize to Craven since he responded to your second post Tw33k in some bizarre prescient way that I’m not privy to (or maybe she missed the post I wrote).
Hmm... so, you are saying that Sundin might actually get his ass in gear because he has Stajan with him? No. If he’s sucking, it’s his fault. Putting a rookie on with him ain’t gunna fix it.
Again, the point was to prop up Stajan not Sundin.
If Sundin does **** with Mogilny on his line, do you really think Stajan will solve that?

I don't need to have a comeback comment. Try scrolling up and reading properly instead of skimming through and reading the thread selectively!!! I was also defending Sundin's lack of production to this point.
