I was gunna reply to Rusty’s original post and mention how this would give another young guy a chance (since everyone felt the addition of Klee apparently condemned the Leaf youngsters to toilet-scrubbing duty).

But with all this bashing and Ottawa talk, I don’t feel like it anymore.

well i believe almo is the highest scoring russian in NHL history(he's in the top 3 for sure). newy scored his 500th goal last season. however, nolan hasn't done anything that stand out at me, but when he's healthy he's just as good as any player on the sens.

Sens Europeans
Hossa Bonk Havlat
Schastlivy arada
Chara Rachunek
Volchenkov
Prusek

Leafs Europeans

Sundin
Mogilny
Reichel
Antropov
Renberg
Kaberle
Berg
Tellqvist

Not to mention that 2 other Europeans are on the verge of making that team(Hedin, Ponikarovsky), so spare me the Leafs aren't a European team either. Plus, does it make you feel better that Toronto spends almost double the amount as Ottawa in player salaries and can't get better results??? Who are you to say I don't know anything about hockey??? Like, your knowledge is somehow better then mine because you live in that city??? That's a pretty ignorant comment to say. I'm not saying I know more or you know more, but comments like that are completely unfounded.
well reichel, renberg and mogilny will be gone either this upcoming summer or next. berg will be gone next summer if he doesn't play like a 3rd overall selection because there's too many good defensive prospects in the minors to justify giving this guy a spot on the team. and who says ponsy is a lock to make the team in the future. sure he's a good player player in the AHL but i wouldn't consider him a top prospect. guys like perrot, holden, stajan and wellwood are ahead of him on the depth charts.

BTW if you want to be nitpicky EJ Sundin has his CDN citizentship, Almo I believe is an American citizen.

Also the way you typed the Sens list makes it look like the Leaf list is way more seeing as you typed in three names on each line for the Sens, but with the Leaf list you only put one name on each line.....

Actually, when I was typing it up, the preview display had it shown differently then what my post ended up looking like. Maybe it was screw-up, not really sure. I was joking about Alfredsson being canadian, I could careless what his nationality is. Alfredsson is a professional and always comes to play. I was pointing out earlier that Ottawa is not just a european team. Yes they do have a big number of them, but they are good players. People who say teams that have too many euro's can't win championships is outdated and ignorant. The Don Cherry mentality is long gone!!!
