Maybe allow the Members to vote on a member of the month sorta like the mods do.
Like the Lester B. Pearson Award in the NHL

I like the idea. I don't think it could be in an open thread/post though, the votes would have to be sent in through the mods because if it were an open thread some flame wars could happen.

if its a suggestion forum then people should have a response as to why it will or not work.
ill rephrase my statement not directed towards any one named member then.
some members may open up extra accounts and vote for themselfs.
so with that said i would leave it to the mods and co-admins. there the ones who edit and know exactly whats going on.
maybe on another note they could have a members choice award similiar to the MOTM.

Don't take offence Krypt, I saw some names mentioned and I don't think going down that road will help this suggestion happen. It has potential to start flame. Its a suggestion, that I personally like, maybe not voting for a member of the month, but allowing people to make their own nominations to the mods based on the criteria laid out in the member of the month guidelines. Its something to discuss openly but without adding members names, was all that I was saying.

This is also a great idea. Members should nominate and then the mods should have the final vote. |

Good point, and it raises the question; how do we already know that some mods haven't set up duplicate accounts for multiple voting in MOTM? Am I the only one who's been noticing the glaring similarities between Timmy and Lapi, and wondering why MD is never in the same place at the same time as Dave?:confusedb
