Default For the Stanley Cup: New Jersey Devils vs. Los Angeles Kings

Los Angeles KingsStrong Points: The defence
has been strong at both ends of the ice. Jonathan Quick has
been strong in goal.
Weak Points: Inability to do anything on the
power play may cost the Kings somewhere. The Devils could
find out how tough to be with the Kings and shut off their
offense.
Intangibles: The power play, if it comes to life,
could find the Devils weak penalty-killing a boon to its
offensive potential.

New Jersey Devils Strong Points: The Devils have gotten
production from their first to their fourth lines and the
fourth line has scored some big goals. Martin Brodeur is a
candidate for the Conn Smythe Trophy.
Weak Points: Defence sometimes has lapses into
inconsistant play. Penalty-killing has not been good.
Intangibles: The Devils have won three of the four
overtime games they have been in.

Prediction: Kings in Six.

Go Kings. I think it will be a great series regardless of who wins but I am rooting for the Kings. The Devils are a great team no doubt but I don't think they can match up against the beast that is LA.

Hi guys. I'm typing this from Jesenice, Slovenia. That's Anze Kopitar's hometown - in case you didn't already knew that.
My English probably won't be brilliant, but you'll understand me, that's for sure.
I wanted to tell the world on what's going on here in Slovenia.
Now, Slovenia - being a tiny, little country, squeezed between Italy, Austria, hungary and Croatia - with entire population of 2 millions - really went nuts over this last few weeks. Anze Kopitar is in any case the very first Slovenian hockey player to play for any NHL team. And what a role he has in it!!!
I'm coming from his hometown, called Jesenice. That's a small town, bordering Italy and Austria. Everyone here is nuts about hockey and our team was the most successful team in former Yugoslavia. Since Slovenia declared independence in 1991 - our hockey team of course continued to be the best by far also in a "new county". That's where Anze was born and raised.
People are gathering in Hrusica (that's a microscopic village a mile away from Jesenice) to watch the NHL Finals outside - there's a big screen on a soccer pitch and some 1500 fans gathered last night to support Anze and his Kings. Unfortunately, win Nr.4 failed to occur and even bigger crowd is expected on Saturday night. It was , afterall, a working week night last nigh (the game started at 2.am local time) and many had to go to work right after the game. But on Saturday - hey, there won't be enough space for everybody, I think...
Go, Kings, GO!!!

Congrats to LA and the Kings on being the 2012 Stanley Cup champions! Also a BIG Thank You for knocking out the Vancouver Sucks in the first round! Too bad you guys were too kind and let the Nuckleheads win one game. Also future big thank you to any other NHL team that prevents the Canucks from getting their hands on the Stanley Cup!

A little late here, but congratulations to the Kings for their first Cup in franchise history. They definitely deserved it.

I'm also really proud of what the Devils did this season. They just never quit. Down 3-2 to the Panthers they responded by winning back to back OT games. They took out the rival Flyers rather quickly. They fell behind the Rangers 2-1, then fought back to win the next three and exorcise some playoff demons. Down 3-0 to the Kings in the Final, they gutted out two wins to make it a series. Obviously it hurts to get that far and not win the Cup, but they got further than I thought they would. It was a wild, fun, and memorable season.

Default Kings power play finally came to life

Penalties doomed the Devils in game 6. The Kings finally
got their weak power play going. That is how they won
the Cup.

And puck monkey, let's keep things civilized, huh?
No more profanity, please. And if you want to bad-mouth teams, Trash Talk is the place.

Only when Canucks fans stop harassing other NHL fans in their, opponents', arenas and when the Vancouver Canucks play real hockey and not that non sense diving baby hockey.

Get your facts straight! I have never used the 4 letter 'F' word in this site. My tone maybe harsh but I never use obscene or vulgar language unless your living in the Victorian era then even damn is considered profanity.

I did do some trash talking in the proper forum but the Canuck fans, like babies, cried to a moderator about it.

As soon as Bernier took the boarding major I had a feeling it was over. I just didn't trust the Devils PK to get through it without giving up at least one goal. To give up three was backbreaking. But they had pretty much already dug their own grave after the first three games.
