Guerin shouldn't be signed for more than one year, if that's what you're implying. He's 38, I'm sure that he's thinking of how long he could actually continue playing at the level he's accustomed to and he probably wouldn't want to sign a multi-year deal.

If they wanted him for multi-year, then there should be a NTC in the contract. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he had one in this contract.

$2M for one year is a good signing for the Pens.

I would actually loved a 1 year deal with an option through 2010-2011. That would be good.

Signing a 38 year old to more than one year at a time would just be silly, just too risky for the team. One year is great, then they can decide again next year.
